President Jokowi Begins Working Visit to China, Saudi Arabia

Jakarta  – The Indonesian President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) on Monday makes a working visit to the People’s Republic of China (PRC) and Saudi Arabia to strengthen cooperation.

In China, the Head of State is scheduled to hold a bilateral meeting with the President of China Xi Jinping on October 17 and attend the 3rd Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation the next day. 

President Widodo will also meet PM Li Qiang and the Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress (NPC) Zhao Leji.

“Some major issues that will be discussed are the enhancements of Indonesian export and investment, as well as the development of food security,” the President said in a statement.

After completing his visit to China, the President will then depart for Saudi Arabia to chair the 1st ASEAN-Gulf Cooperation Countries (GCC) Summit with the Crown Prince and Prime Minister of Saudi Arabia Mohammed bin Salman.

“Several cooperations with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia that will be addressed are the improvement of economic and investment cooperation, guarantee for halal energy products, and the establishment of supreme coordination council,” the President explained. 

President Joko Widodo and his entourage is planning head back to Indonesia on October 21, 2023

The President also accompanied by: Minister of Trade Zulkifli Hasan, Minister of State-owned Enterprises Erick Thohir, Cabinet Secretary Pramono Anung, Director General of Protocol and Consular Affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs/Chief of State Protocol Andy Rachmianto, 

Also, Military Secretary to the President Admiral TNI Hersan, and Commander of the Presidential Secret Service Major General TNI (Mar) Rafael Granada Baay.
